Credit Rating

A Credit Rating is a tag that can be assigned to Security and Counterparty components.

If a security Credit Rating is not explicitly assigned, the security is assumed to have the Credit Rating of the issuer of that security. This issuer is identified in the security specification as the Counterparty.

The Credit Rating is specified as a unique name along with an integer rank. The rank enables the credit ratings to be displayed according to their rank rather than alphabetically. [ The better a credit rating is, the lower is it's rank assignment. In the examples, the best credit is ranked as 1 and the worst credit is ranked as 7 with the other credits assigned ranks between 1 and 7.]

The Credit Rating name can be used in Synthetic Portfolios for aggregating positions based on the credit rating of the position's underlying security.
