Category
A Category is a tag that can be assigned to a Security to indicate that the Security falls into a particular user-defined
classification. For example, a security can be classified by: the geographical location
of the economy that affects it; the business sector that it belongs to; the size
and nature of operations of the security's counterparty; or any other
classification that the user might create.
There is no limit to the number of categories that can be assigned to a
security; however, too large a number may degrade performance during some application
operations.
A Category is specified as a unique name. It can be used in Synthetic Portfolios for aggregating positions based on the categories assigned to the position's
underlying security.
