External Data Variable

External Data Variables or EDVs are used to connect to external data. They can also be used to specify a constant value that is used by other Data Variables.

They are specified by identifying the external Server, Topic and Item that identifies the data that is to be imported into RiskWin . If it is a constant, the value needs to be specified. In addition, the maximum and minimum values expected should also be specified.

These variables are usually used in the calculations performed by Computed Data Variables and World Variable Data Variable.

External Data Variables can also be selected during Sensitivity Analysis as the underlying Data Variable in a Data Variable Range.
